Among the Ruins
For a while I had been searching for a really awesome location to shoot a semi-themed portrait session that I had in mind, and once I saw pictures of the Old Sheldon Church Ruins in South Carolina, I knew it was the perfect place. The ruins are of an old church that was burned down in 1779 by the British. It was rebuilt several times, but now all that remains are the huge columns and some wall structures. Surrounding the ruins are gravestones and other remains of a cemetery. The pictures in this collection represent the idea of time in relation to the contrasting images of old and new. The models represent youth and life, while the ruins represent history and the past.
